Griefhelm
Quality Assurance Analyst - Thorrnet Games

DESCRIPTION

Griefhelm is a tactical dueling game with stance-based combat by Johnny Lonack and Thorrnet Games. Attacks are made either high, middle, or low, and defenders must respond in kind. Players can also shove, dash, and disarm to add extra complexity to duels.

The game can be learned in a few minutes, but advanced moves, timing, ground control, and killer instincts will keep you learning for a long time. Duel solo or with a friend for the right to climb each level of Griefhelm and reach the Last Battle. Defend the gates of Death in 4-player local or online multiplayer battles.

MY ROLE

Thorrnet Games (www.thorr.net) is an indie publishing label founded by Tucker Dean, one of the creative minds behind Robot Unicorn Attack, Rain World, and Duck Game. I've been working with Thorrnet Games as a Quality Assurance Analyst to launch and update Griefhelm on Steam.
  • Meticulously and iteratively examining builds of the game to document bugs and ways to improve the user experience and gameplay balance.
  • Built and maintained extensive task boards outlining bugs and needed UX and balance improvements in great detail.
  • Discovered and documented countless bugs, exploits, and needed improvements.
  • Working closely with the developer and producer to ensure fixes/changes to builds were stable and ready for release
  • Developed and executed test plans for bugs that were difficult to find or reproduce
  • Collaborating on design and balance decisions with the developer, brainstorming and designing future content and combat mechanics
